1 2 foam pool bottom - Polystyrene Foam Insulation for Pool Bottom - Pink Vs. Blue | Trouble Free Pool

Sep 19,  · We are putting up a 15 x 30 steel wall pool. We've already purchased a foam cove. Our soil is quite sandy so we're thinking we can get away with not bringing in sand if we use a 1/2" or so of sifted soil to cover the inside framework and then put down a layer of rigid polystyrene foam insulation to make a smooth bottom. Jun 15,  · We're getting closer to putting our 15 x 30 AG pool up and I need to decide whether to use 2" of sand on the bottom (I purchased coving) and worry about smoothing that out or just getting 1 1/2" styrofoam and laying that out. Does anyone have an opinion/experience on which is best? I'm sure the styrofoam would be easiest, but I don't want to do it if it compromises anything. Mar 31, Pool btm by: Chris I am trying to figure out my Pool bottom. Which foam to use. The white 3/4" is like $11 a sheet which the /2 is like 25 a sheet.
